Many people know much more than I do about things of this nature and I merely put the post here to get the thoughts and ideas from other people. I think input from those that actually read the bill can provide information as good or better than snopes because very often they have more interest in the actual bill, rather than making money from verifying it. They've actually combined two emails here - the tax one is false ( http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/taxreturns.asp ) as SB 2099 is a defunct bill from 10 years ago, that wouldn't quite have done that anyway. The rest of it ( http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/blairholt.asp ) is _partly_ true (it doesn't, for instance, allow for home inspections of gun lockups, or physical & mental health evaluations) but has very little likelihood of passing, as noted above. I thought I should add this, as it is quite an alarming bill for many if it does or did make it into law.
