Should PETA Ban Chickens?

Hopefully the question, “Should PETA ban chickens?” never comes up. I know how stupid this sounds, but we must remember that President Obama did in fact assault a fly during one of his speeches.

There really is some humor there in that I do think it possible that whoever mentioned this event, and the comment supposedly came from someone involved with PETA did make the comment.

My assumption is, that from the view that PETA has on life of all living things, or at least animals, that we should try not to let chickens out of their barns, coops, or whatever because they are extremely destructive to ticks, moths, butterflies, worms, and just about any small insects. I have even seen a chicken consume a dead mouse, I don’t think they generally catch the live ones.

I do believe in what PETA is doing. I don’t believe they are using a great deal of common sense. If our president assaulted, or I believe murdered a fly, then what right does a lowly chicken have to feel that they can go around murdering insects?

I have seen a chicken pick a moth or miller right out of the air, inside their coop. They will do the same to any flying insect that they can catch.

I assume that all animals that eat anything but vegetables is a menace to our environment. If an animal or bird such as an eagle eats meat, it can only be imagined what sort of conscience they have to go around eating rabbits, squirrels, ducks, or any other animals. Are they also a menace to society?

With humans on the top of the food chain, which I believe they still are, I wonder just how bad it is to do what so many animals in our world do, and that is to consume each other to maintain their lives.

The consequences of letting a chicken out their pen is like signing a death warrant to every insect that was at one time considered by humans to be a pest. Keeping a chicken in a pen is cruel. I agree wholeheartedly that cage laying operations are very inhumane. I don’t like to see chickens contained in a barn, never seeing the outdoors for their entire life, but I do know that many people do eat chicken.

Therefore I ask any visitors. What can be done to all of the animals in nature to prevent them from killing each other for food if they aren’t totally vegan?

It is wrong to hurt any animal. Even the coyote that comes and eats your domestic cat. Do we give up everything for the sake of the animals in nature?

I do believe cruelty to animals should be stopped. I also believe there are some guidelines as to what should be done to animals.

I do know I have no answers, but I do know moderation in some of the ideas in animal protection might just be a good idea.

I realize this is a little off the wall. Sometimes I really don’t understand just how far people can go with an idea.

We can laugh, but we really did have someone comment about the president killing a fly. It makes me wonder just how off the wall something like this really is, or if some people are just going crazy.
